A stamped concrete driveway on Long Island and in NYC typically runs $16–$28 per square foot installed, so a standard two-car driveway lands around $9,000–$18,000. Price moves with pattern complexity, how many colors you want, tear-out of the old driveway, and whether the base needs extra excavation. Stamped concrete gives you the stone or brick look as one solid slab, so there are no joints for weeds and no individual pieces to settle. Pavers are easier to lift and repair one at a time. For driveways we usually recommend stamped concrete when you want a seamless look and less yearly upkeep, and pavers when you want to be able to swap sections later.

Properly built stamped concrete holds up fine here. The difference is what's under it: a compacted stone sub-base, fiber or wire reinforcement, correct slab thickness, and saw-cut control joints placed so the slab cracks where you can't see it. We also seal it so salt and freeze-thaw don't chew up the surface.

Most popular are ashlar slate, random stone, cobblestone, and wood plank. Colors are done with an integral base color plus an antiquing release for depth, and we can add a contrasting border or banding around the edge of the driveway. We bring samples so you can see the pattern and color together before we pour.

You can walk on it after about 24–48 hours, and drive on it after 7 days. Full cure takes about 28 days — we'll tell you when it's ready to seal and ask you to hold off on de-icing salt for the first winter.
